I certainly enjoyed Rotterdam and its eclectic architecture. However, as I said, I could not really check out De Rotterdam. We went into the main lobby (with the little espresso bar) and it was rather empty (one bartender and one guest). We also took the (only publicly accessible?) elevator and rode to every floor (-2 to 6) but these were all only to parking levels or still under construction. Overall, it looked nice, but certainly not lively / fully finished yet. This was a bit my general feeling for the whole area. While some tourists were stumbling around, many projects felt rather “urban redevelopment for investors”-y. But it was cold and windy, so it might have not been the best day to experience Wilhelminapier.
